Lanny Lewis joined Wellesley Tennis as the Assistant Coach in August, 2025.
A lifelong tennis enthusiast, Lewis was a collegiate student-athlete at Division III University of the South, Sewanee. He was a four-time All-Conference recipient and team co-captain, helping to bring the program as high as ninth in the country. In 2019, Lewis’ 1993 tennis team was inducted into the Sewanee Athletics Hall of Fame.
Lewis has tennis teaching experience as an Assistant Tennis Pro in Nashville, Tenn. and Tallahassee, Fla., where he has taught clinics, worked tennis camps and managed the tennis shop.
Lewis comes to Wellesley after serving as a Teaching Faculty at Florida State University’s College of Entrepreneurship since 2016. Lewis also taught at FSU’s College of Business from 2015-16. Additionally, Lewis also owned and operated the Southern Compass Outfitters store in Tallahassee, Fla. from 2013-24.
Lewis graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from University of the South, Sewanee. He then went on to earn an MBA at Florida State University.
