Wellesley fell behind 2-1 in doubles with the team of
Marie Watanabe (Houston, TX) and
Jacqueline Shen (Calgary, AB) combining for a 9-8
(7) win at the number one position. Wellesley also got a
hard-fought match from Mohona Siddique (Chevy
Chase, MD) and Nathalie Herman (San Francisco,
CA), who fell 8-6 in the number two spot.
In singles action, Meghan Stubblebine (Cumming,
GA) picked up the only victory for Wellesley, a 7-6(6), 6-4 triumph
in the number five slot.
Wellesley returns to the courts on Saturday playing at the Seven
Sisters Championships hosted by Smith College. The Blue will
face Bryn Mawr at 12:30pm and Mount Holyoke at 3:30pm.
