SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Wellesley College golf team ended play in ninth place at the two-day NYU Invitational, hosted at the par-72, 6,008-yard Spook Rock Golf Course.
Wellesley was paced by junior Michelle Cho, who followed her day-one 85 with an 83 in the second round. Her two-day total of 168 placed her 23rd overall in the field of 66 golfers.
Sophomores Alexandra Fuiks and Lindsey Shephardson were the next lowest scorers for the Blue, as Fuiks finished with a 172 total (83-89) and Shephardson totaled 178 (83-95) at the event.
First-year Alexandria Lee finished a consistant tournament with a 92 on day one and a 93 on day two, compiling an overall score of 185. Wrapping up play for the Blue, Michelle Brann made the biggest improvement after day one, shaving 11 strokes to record a 90 on day two.
Middlebury's Flora Weeks won medalist honors, shooting rounds of 75 and 76 to finish with a four-stroke lead over Becky Miller of Williams.
In the team scoring, Williams took the title with a total score of 630, edging Middlebury's 643. Wellesley's two-day total of 698 ranked the Blue ninth overall.
Wellesley is back in action next weekend competing at the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
