ROME, N.Y. – No. 14 Wellesley College golf is in second place after the opening round of the 2026 Liberty League Championship at the Par-71 Teugega Country Club.
The Blue combined for a team score of 302 (+18) and is 15 shots behind No. 2 NYU who leads the tournament with a 287 (+3). Union is in third with a score of 319 followed by Ithaca (323), St. Lawrence (365), Vassar (385) and William Smith (443).
Sophomore
Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) led the Blue with a 2-over 73. Boyd began the round with back-to-back birdies en route to a 1-under front side before a 38 on the back. Boyd is in t-4th after 18 holes.
Junior
Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) went out in 40 and came in with an even par back side of 35, with one birdie and one bogey, to post a 4-over 75. Lewis sits in t-6th out of 32 competitors.

Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) and first-year
Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) each posted 77 (+6). Yeh had three birdies with two coming on par-3s, while Li finished with four birdies. The duo are in t-6th.
Junior
Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) is in t-11th place after a 79 (+8). Bajpai had a front nine of 39 and a back of 40, including a great birdie on the par-3 15th.
