CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Wellesley College Tennis cruised to a 9-0 victory over Emerson College on Tuesday afternoon, as the Blue move to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. The host Lions drop to 0-9 (0-8 NEWMAC).

SoJung Lee and Carina Chen opened the day by defeating Jana Winfield and Theresa Nelson in first doubles, 8-0. Andjela Stojkovic and Caroline Hsu kept the Blue rolling in the second doubles match, defeating Lilli Rosario and Sarah Brennan-Athas, 8-0; before the Blue were award the third doubles match by default.

The Blue were award the sixth singles match by default before Victoria Wu defeated Eastin Ashby (6-0,6-0) to secure the Wellesley victory. Caroline Dickensheets then defeated Lilli Rosario (6-0, 6-0) in the fourth singles match while Emily Olson took third singles with another 6-0,6-0 victory for the Blue.

Samantha Stone and Dasha Kostikina then finished off the Wellesley sweep in first and second singles, Kostikina defeated Brennan-Athas (6-0, 6-1) and Stone topped Winfield (6-0, 6-0)

The Blue will host Springfield College in their next match on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Emerson will travel to non-conference Worcester St. on Friday at 3:30 PM.
