CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- Senior Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) took first place in the three-meter dive for the fourth time in her career, scoring 517.20 to lead Wellesley College swimming & diving on the second day of the 2018 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships at MIT's Zeisger Center Pool.

Sticco-Ivins, one of nine NEWMAC divers to register regional qualifying marks during Friday's three-meter event, earns first team All-Conference honors for the seventh time in her career and the fourth time in three-meter diving. Sticco-Ivins will now aim for a career sweep of the NEWMAC Championship diving events during Sunday's one-meter, as she has already won the last three NEWMAC one-meter titles.

Two relay teams competed for the Blue in the 200 Free Relay with junior Crystal Zhu (Chelmsford, Mass.), first years Emma Helmich (Huntington, Ind.), Solveig Stensland (Lino Lakes, Minn.), and Margaret Harrigan (Chatham, N.J.) finishing in sixth place for the "A" with a time of 1:41.37. The "B" relay took 16th overall with junior Veronica Pawlik (Teaneck, N.J.), senior Patricia Chen (Natick, Mass.), junior Francesca Dong (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and first year Emily Yeager (Pittsfield, Mass.) at 1:43.84.

Sophomore Kayleigh Svensson (Palo Alto, Calif.) finished 12th in the the 500 Free with a time of 5:15.52 and junior Jessie Feng (Princeton, N.J.) followed behind, touching the wall at 5:21.93 for the 17th spot.  

Junior Sunny Chiang (Troy, Mich.) finished in ninth place to lead the Blue in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.81. Sophomore Danielle Peterson (Livingston, N.J.) clocked in a 2:14.44 time in 15th place and was followed by first year Margaret Harrigan (Chatham, N.J.) in 17th overall at 2:15.05.

Helmich finished the 50 Free in the 18th spot, clocking a 25.33 time. Chiang, Peterson, Helmich, and Harrigan finished the night at sixth overall in the 400 Medley with a time of 4:04.70.

Wellesley finished with 176 points after the second day of competition. The Blue are currently in sixth place. Host MIT leads with 427 points. Wheaton (254) is in second, followed by Springfield (270.5) in third, Coast Guard (214.5) in fourth, and WPI (198) in fifth.

Day three of the NEWMAC Championships will continue on Saturday with the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, and the 200 Medley Relay. Swimming preliminaries begin at 10:00 AM and the finals will take place at 6:00 PM.
