AUSTIN, Texas – Wellesley College swimming & diving senior Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) has been recognized as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Second Team Academic All-American. Sekhon is only the second member of the program to receive the award, joining Maura Sticco-Ivins '18 back in 2016-17.

Sekhon's honor comes after a high-achieving season. The senior was the NEWMAC Champion in the 100 Breaststroke, earning an NCAA "B" cut. At the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships, Sekhon competed in the 100 Breastroke, where she was a Second Team All-American, the 200 Breaststroke, and as a member of the 200 and 400 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay. The 200 Medley Relay also earned Second Team All-America status.

The 2025-26 Academic All-America Women's Swimming & Diving Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. The all-time list of 44,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science and the arts. Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions.
