WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Junior Danielle Brubaker (Princeton Junction, N.J.) scored a career-high seven points on two goals and three assists as Wellesley College field hockey celebrated the dedication of Butler Stadium with an 8-1 non-conference win over the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon.

Butler Stadium was officially dedicated in honor of John and Alice Lehman Butler '53 and the generosity of Chris and Suzanne Sandman Pasko '90 P'23 and the Martore Family Class of '73 and '10 prior to Saturday's game. 

Senior Hannah Maisano (Gambrills, Md.), junior Carson Dennis (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.), and sophomore Caitlin Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) each scored two goals apiece to help Wellesley improve to 3-2 overall. Me.-Farmington is now 0-5 on the year. 

Brubaker, who now has back-to-back two-goal games, opened the scoring with her third of the season at 6:34 of the first, redirecting a shot from the top from Mitzi Wiggin (North Hampton, N.H.) into the back of the Farmington cage. Wiggin now has three assists in five games.

The Beavers countered with a goal later in the opening quarter, as junior Alex Bessy (Jay, Maine) took advantage of a turnover in the Wellesley end to score her team-leading fourth of the season. However, Wellesley broke open the 1-1 tie with a three-goal second period, as Dennis scored twice and Campbell netted her first of the game to give the Blue the lead at the half. Dennis' first goal came on a penalty stroke. Campbell then finished on a feed from Brubaker to make the score 3-1 at 20:51. Dennis followed with a stick-stop drive on a penalty corner goal at 27:00 to send the Blue to the break with a 4-1 lead. 

Wellesley added four more goals in the second half to pull away from the Beavers. Maisano scored 4:18 into the third, evading defenders with an unassisted effort. The senior would later add her team-leading fifth goal of the season with just under nine minutes to play. 

Brubaker set-up Campbell's second with a nifty pass across the goal mouth at 41:45 and scored her second at 43:20 when a redirection landed her stick in front after an attempt from Maggie King (Philadelphia, Pa.). King picked-up an assist on the play. 

Wellesley finished the game with a 21-4 advantage in shots and had seven penalty corner opportunities while limiting the Beavers to three. Junior Janelle Sullivan (Philadelphia, Pa.) made two saves to pick-up the win (3-2). Sophomore Grace DiMarco (Uxbridge, Mass.) took the loss in the Me.-Farmington cage.

Both teams continue the season on Wednesday, September 18. Wellesley will host Framingham St. at 5:00 PM. Me.-Farmington will travel to in-state rival Saint Joseph's (Me.) for a 4:30 PM contest.
