Endicotts Stops Wellesley Field Hockey

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Endicott College found goals early and often in a 5-0 non-conference win over Wellesley College field hockey at Butler Stadium on Wednesday.

Junior Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Gulls (10-4 Overall) with a pair of goals. First year Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) earned the clean sheet with six saves in the cage.

Senior Maddy Young (Hingham, Mass.) put Endicott on the board 12 minutes and 50 seconds into the first quarter on a shot set up by junior Tori Swanson (Farmington, Conn.).

Late in the first half, the Gulls doubled the lead when junior Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) put a ball away.

Hicks scored twice in the second half, once in each quarter. Senior Kathleen Reissfelder (Westwood, Mass.) added a tally while junior Lily Farnham (Andover, Mass.) recorded an assist.

First year Maddie Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich.) provided seven saves for the Blue (9-5 Overall). Senior Eleanor Wenners (Rye, N.H.) made a defensive save in the third quarter to erase a potential goal.

Endicott outshot Wellesley 17-13. The Blue attempted six penalty corners while the Gulls took four.

Each team hits the road on Saturday, October 19. Wellesley faces Smith College at 12:00 PM while Endicott takes on Colby College at 1:00 PM.
