WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer played to a 1-1 draw in a NEWMAC game with Clark University on Saturday.
Prior to the game Wellesley acknowledged six seniors for their contributions to the Blue. The seniors honored were Ariel Moncrief (Tucson, Ariz.), Juliana Mytko (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.), Jusrin Padam (Lexington, Mass.), Carrie Huang (Seattle, Wash.), Michelle Lim (Saratoga, Calif.) and Abby Couture (Sugar Land, Texas).
Moncrief took care of the scoring for the Blue (5-6-3 Overall, 1-4-2 NEWMAC), finding the lower left corner of the goal off of a cross from first year Solveig Unteroberdoerster (Chevy Chase, Md.) at the 30:57 mark.
The Cougars (3-9-2 Overall, 0-5-2 NEWMAC) responded with under seven minutes remaining in the contest. First year Georgia Louis (West Hartford, Conn.) dribbled into open space and scored to make the score 1-1.
Clark finished the game with a 19-13 shot advantage, while attempting eight corner kicks. Junior Riley McNair (Cupertino, Calif.) stopped 11 shots for the Blue and senior Anabella White (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) saved five for the Cougars.
The Blue will welcome Emerson College on Wednesday, October 23 at 3:00 PM. The Cougars are at home that same day, hosting Mount Holyoke College at 7:00 PM.
