SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer dropped a 1-0 non-conference contest at Western New England University on Saturday at Suprenant Field. 

The lone goal of the match came in the 81st minute when senior Brynn Murphy (Upton, Mass.) found an opening in the lower right side of the goal. 

WNE (3-0-3) held a 5-2 edge in shots (1-0 on target), while each team took one corner in the first half. 

The Golden Bears ended the contest with an 11-3 advantage in shots and a 5-1 margin in corner kicks. 

Blue junior Sascha Fleesler (New York, N.Y.) made a trio of saves in net.

Wellesley (2-2-1) will host its second annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day game on Wednesday, September 18 at 4:00 PM against Plymouth State University. The Bears host Smith on Tuesday, September 17 at 4:00 PM.
