Wellesley Soccer and Clark Scoreless in 0-0 NEWMAC Draw

WORCESTER, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer and Clark University engaged in a 0-0 NEWMAC draw at Granger Athletic Complex on Saturday.

Junior Ava Lepro (Guilford, Conn.) was a brick wall for Clark (6-5-5 Overall, 2-4-3 NEWMAC), preventing all nine shots on goal from finding a home.

The first half was a defensive stalemate that saw only five total shots taken. Blue senior Reika Ishibe (Guilford, Conn.) recorded the lone shot on goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Sophomore Isabella Tolosa (Santa Clara, Calif.) finished with five shots taken for the Blue, the leader in the contest.

Senior Riley McNair (Cupertino, Calif.) didn't face any shots and came away with a 10th career shutout for the Blue (6-7-3 Overall, 3-4-2 NEWMAC). Wellesley maintained offensive pressure, ending with an 18-2 edge in shots taken. The visitors attempted six corner kicks.

Each team competes in a conference game on Wednesday, October 29. The Blue will take on Babson College across town at 3:00 PM. The Cougars host Salve Regina University at 7:00 PM.
