BRUNSWICK, Maine – Wellesley College golf finished third out of 14 teams at the two-day Polar Bear Shootout played at the Brunswick Golf Club.
Wellesley registered a tournament team score of 600 (299, 301).
Williams won the tournament at -22 with a total of 562 (285, 277). Wesleyan was in second place at 593 (297, 296). Amherst finished one shot behind Wellesley in fourth with a total of 601 (298,303), while Middlebury rounded out the top five teams at 604 (314, 290).
First-year
Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) led the Blue for the second straight day. Li came away with a 74 (+1) on Sunday after a first round score of 70 (-3). Li finished t-6th at 2-under and was one of nine players in the 86-player field to be under par for the tournament.
Sophomore
Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) shot a 75 (+2) for the second day in a row. Boyd placed t-15th overall with a two-day total of 150 (+4).
Junior
Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) recorded 14 pars to start the round and finished with a 76 (+3) to match Saturday's score. Lewis finished with a total of 152 (+6) to place t-18th.
Junior
Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) had a team-high five birdies today to finish with a 76 (+3). Du placed t-34th at +11 for the tournament.
Junior
Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) went 6-over on Sunday for a 79. Sun finished the tournament in t-34 to match Du with a two-day total of 157 (+11).
First-year
Kate Lee (Lake Oswego, Ore.) carded an 83, while first-year
Allyson Duan (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) shot an 81 as each competed as individuals this weekend.
The Blue will resume competition in the spring.
