ROME, N.Y. - First-year
Caris Lee (Los Angeles, Calif.) won the individual title to help lead the Wellesley golf team to win the Hamilton Invitational at Rome Country Club.
Lee had a two-day total of +2 to outplay the 51-player field. On Sunday, Lee was very impressive with a 2-under round of 70. Lee had a front nine score of 34 with two birdies and an eagle and was even on the back with a birdie, a bogey and seven pars.
The second Wellesley team to compete this weekend, erased a 5-shot deficit to defeat tournament host Hamilton (614) by four shots. The Blue won with a two-round total of 610 (309, 301) and also topped third place Babson (619) by nine shots.
First-year
Alice Chen (Shanghai, China) turned in a solid round of 3-over 75 with a birdie on the front and back. Chen placed seventh overall.
Senior
Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) also played well with a 76. Bajpai had a pair of 38s and a stretch of seven pars on the back en route to finishing t-15th.
Sophomore
Kate Lee (Lake Oswego, Ore.) carded an 80 and finished the round with a birdie. Lee was +13 in the two days to place t-17th.
First-year
Madison Soong (Chino Hills, Calif.) also shot an 80 with a 40 on the front and the back. Soong finished t-24th for the tournament.
First-year
Michelle Su (Clermont, Fla.) was even on the front and had a 39 on the back for a total of 3-over 76 in round two. Su, who competed as an individual, earned a top-10 spot in t-8th.
Sophomore
Allyson Duan (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) also competed as an individual and shot an 83 to finish t-35th.
The Blue will resume their 2026-27 campaign in the spring.
