GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – For the first time in program history, the No. 6 Wellesley College golf team has won the Liberty League Women's Golf Championship, defeating second place No. 9 New York University by six strokes. This year's event was played at the Par 72 Pinehaven CC.

With the win, Wellesley earns the Liberty League's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship from May 13-16 at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Va. 2025 will be the first time the golf program has ever gone to the national championship as a team. Wellesley Athletics Hall of Famer Kim Eaton '11 went all four years as an individual from 2008-11.

The Blue finished Sunday with a 310, which combined with Saturday's 302 gave the team a winning total of 612. NYU finished second at 618 strokes, while Ithaca College (651) made the podium in third. Union College (655), Vassar College (707), St. Lawrence University (761) and William Smith College (915) made up the rest of the seven-team competition.

Sophomore Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) won the 34-person individual competition, earning a nod to the First Team All-Liberty League. Wang matched yesterday's 73 with another 73, for a 146 weekend that was only two strokes above par. On Sunday, Wang took advantage of five birdies, including one for good measure on the par 4 18th hole.

Classmate Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) joined Wang on the First Team All-Liberty League, capturing second place. Yeh went 39 on the front and 40 on the back on Sunday to finish the weekend eight strokes over at 152 (73-79).

First-year Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) made the most of an inaugural championship experience, ending the weekend with 157 strokes (78-79), including a trio of birdies on Sunday. That score placed Boyd in a tie for seventh place, and got a spot on the Second Team All-Liberty League.

Sophomore Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) also finished with a 36-hole score of 157 after putting together a 79 on day two. Bajpai joined Boyd on the Second Team All-Liberty League, and tied for seventh place.

Sophomore Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) rounded out the team, finishing Sunday seven strokes over (79) to end the weekend with a final score of 159 (80-79). Lewis finished 11th overall and has been named Honorable Mention All-Liberty League.
