All 11 Members of Blue Tennis Score ITA Scholar-Athlete Award; Program Earns ITA All-Academic Team Status

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College tennis has earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's All-Academic Team for a tenth consecutive season. The Blue posted a 3.89 team GPA for the year. Additionally, all 11 members of the Blue have received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2025, 1,269 Division III women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 165 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

Rising senior Emilee Pak (Chicago, Ill.) has been recognized for the third time.

Rising juniors Lily Cade (Minneapolis, Minn.), Dalia Khera (Houston, Texas), Veda Madhusudan (Short Hills, N.J.), Kriti Sarav (Chicago, Ill.) and Suzanne Xu (Boyds, Md.) have each added the honor to their resumes.

Rising sophomores Sophie Buttorff (Tacoma, Wash.), Sofia Corte-Real (Stamford, Conn.), Rianna Mariotti (Forest Hills, N.Y.), Kotistha Modak (Chennai, India) and Nandini Patel (Phoenix, Ariz.) have all secured the accolade in their first year of eligibility.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

  • have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
  • be listed on the institutional eligibility form

Originally founded in 1956 by the legendary UCLA men's tennis coach, J. D. Morgan, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
