Blue Tennis’ Damien Prohaska Receives ITA Northeast Assistant Coach of the Year Honor

TEMPE, Ariz. – Wellesley College Assistant Tennis Coach Damien Prohaska has earned the 2024-25 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Assistant Coach of the Year award for the Northeast Region.

Prohaska and Head Coach Brian Kuscher recently guided the Blue to a 15-4 season with a 7-1 conference record and a NEWMAC Semifinal appearance. The team reached as high as No. 12 in Division III this season with ranked wins over Skidmore College, Denison University, Hope College, Babson College and New York University. 

Prohaska' impact is not limited to his on-court coaching abilities. He has helped the Blue receive top 20 ranking in the Tennis Recruiting Network recruiting classes rankings in both 2023 and 2024. The team earned 16th in 2023 and 18th in 2024.

In Prohaska's four years at Wellesley, the Blue have gone 46-25 (.648) as a program.


The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at all levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community College.
