WELLESLEY, Mass. – University of New England sophomore Riley Zielinski (Orange, Conn.) scored a decisive overtime goal in a 2-1 win over Wellesley College field hockey on Wednesday evening at Butler Stadium.
Zielinski tallied for the Nor'Easters (4-5) seven minutes and 24 seconds into the overtime period, redirecting a ball from senior Shelly Tremblay (Barre, Mass.) into the goal. Wellesley sophomore Claudia Summers (San Diego, Calif.) had three shots on goal for the hosts in OT.

Wellesley took the 1-0 advantage into the fourth quarter, but it wouldn't last long. A minute and 35 seconds into the frame junior Gianna Korisianos (Peabody, Mass.) drove in and ripped a shot that ricocheted off of the goalie and into the cage.
Sophomore Greta Jennison (Bristol, Vt.) stopped eight of nine shots on goal for the Nor'Easters. Blue first-year Katelyn Hurt (Carrollton, Texas) recorded three saves in the cage.
The Blue held a narrow 15-11 edge in total shots taken, placing nine on goal and limiting the visitors to five on goal. Wellesley took eight penalty corners and UNE attempted three.
Both teams next play on the road at noon on Saturday, September 27. The Blue will travel to NEWMAC opponent Wheaton College. The Nor'Easters take on Johnson & Wales University.
