WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Wellesley College golf finished seventh out of 20 teams at the Williams Fall Invitational held at the Taconic Golf Club this weekend.
Wellesley posted a combined score of 609 (298, 311, +41).
Amherst won the tournament with a score of 587 (286, 301, +19). The closest team was NYU, 10 shots behind, with a two-day total of 597 (293, 304,+29). Williams finished third with a score of 600 (295, 305, +32), while Wesleyan placed fourth at 602 (293, 309, +34). Middlebury finished fifth with a score of 605 (300, 305, +37) and was one shot ahead of Hamilton in sixth at 606 (307, 299, +38).
Junior
Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) led the Blue with a +4 round of 75. Sun came away with a t-8th (+7) finish to lead Wellesley.
Junior
Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) carded a 78 after equal nines of 39 on the par-71 layout. Lewis finished +9 overall and placed t-15th out of 98 competitors.
First-year
Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) also shot a 78 on Sunday. After a first round 75, Li finished in t-23rd with a two-day total of +11.
Junior
Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) and sophomore
Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) each followed up a first round of 76 with an 80 on Sunday to finish at +14 and place t-36th for the tournament.
The Blue will compete at the Polar Bear Shootout next weekend at the Brunswick Golf Club in Maine.
