BOSTON, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer kicked off the 2026 campaign in a scoreless tie at Simmons University on Tuesday night.
The Blue (0-0-1) took 21 shots as a unit and limited the Sharks (0-0-1) to 12. However, neither team was able to capitalize on any of its chances. Wellesley sophomore Olivia Lore (Blue Bell, Pa.) and Simmons junior Lauren Sanchez (Haverhill, Mass.) both recorded clean sheets over 90 minutes of action. Sanchez stopped 11 attempts while Lore made six saves.
Wellesley recorded a 9-5 shot advantage in a scoreless first half with five attempts on goal. The team pressured the hosts offensively, earning seven corner kicks for its efforts.
First-year Maya Fraser (Leverett, Mass.) dished out four shots on goal for the Blue, while senior Mae Nephew (Duluth, Minn.) put a trio on target. The visitors ended the affair with 10 corner kicks.
Wellesley continues its three-game road trip on Saturday, September 5 against Endicott College at 4:30 PM. Simmons stays home to welcome Fisher College at 1:00 PM that same day.
