BEVERLY, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer faced a 1-0 setback on the road against Endicott College at Hempstead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gulls (2-0) outshot the Blue (0-1-1) 17-2. Wellesley recorded five corner kicks while Endicott took four.
The lone tally of the game occurred at the 12:19 mark of the first half. Sophomore Belle Johnson (Bridgewater, Mass.) was able to corral a pass from senior Olivia Pardo (Latham, N.Y.) and convert it into a goal.Â
That score proved to be all of the offense the Gulls needed. Wellesley sophomore Olivia Lore (Blue Bell, Pa.) was able to stop the other six shots on goal while the backline, helmed by senior Dika KC (Pittsford, N.Y.) warded off any other offensive efforts.
Senior Mae Nephew (Duluth, Minn.) and junior Emma Hogarth (Chandler, Ariz.) recorded the shot attempts for Wellesley.
Each team competes in a home match on Wednesday, September 9. The Blue welcome UMass Boston for a 4:00 PM contest while the Gulls host Colby College at 7:00 PM.
