MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -  The Wellesley golf team placed seventh at this weekend's George Phinney Classic played at Ralph Myhre Golf Course hosted by Middlebury College. 

The Blue had a two-round team total of 650 (328, 322). 

First-year Caris Lee (Los Angeles, Calif.) turned in the best round of the day for the Blue with a 76. The 5-over score was the fourth best round posted in the 66-player field. Lee finished the tournament in a tie for 14th.

First-year Madison Soong (Chino Hills, Calif.) was next on the team with a Sunday score of 80. Soong had a birdie on the par-5 1st and six pars in a row early in the round to help finish t-37th. 

Sophomore Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) shot an 83 to place t-23rd. 

First-year Alice Chen (Shanghai, China) also carded an 83, which included a birdie on the 5th hole. Chen placed t-41st overall. 

Senior Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) finished t-26th after a second round score of 84.

Senior Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) had a 46 on the front nine and a 41 on the back, which included a pair of birdies for an 87. Bajpai competed as an individual and placed t-45th. 

Wellesley will play at the Williams Invitational next weekend at Taconic Golf Club.
