Track & Field's Beauchamp, Whinney Receive USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Wellesley College track & field seniors Simone Beauchamp (Aurora, Colo.) and Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) have both made the the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Track & Field All-Region list for their respective performances in the 3000m Steeplechase. 

Whinney earns the Outdoor Track & Field All-Region recognition for a fourth year while Beauchamp claims the honor for a third consecutive year.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top three ranked relay team. Data is compiled based on what has been uploaded to AthleticNET throughout the season.

Whinney had the top time in the East Region in the 3000m Steeplechase with a Blue program record time of 10:35.66 and will be competing this week at the NCAA Division III Championships. Beauchamp finished the year fifth in the region in the event, with a top time of 11:15.49 at the MIT Final Qualifier.


The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
