POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Wellesley College golfer Kim Eaton took home the individual title at the 2011 Vassar College Golf Invitational. Eaton led the Blue to an eighth place finish in the 12 team event, held at the par-72, 5,805-yard Dutchess Country Club course.

Eaton bested a competitive 58-player field to claim the individual crown with an 81 and an 82. Her two day total of 163 finished ahead of Middlebury's Flora Weeks who took second place with an 84 and an 81 (165 combined). Last year's individual winner, Celynne Balatbat of Vassar, tied for third with Georgiana Salant of Williams as the pair shot an identical 81 and 86 (167 combined).

Williams College shot a 344 on day two to overtake Amherst College and win the team title at the seventh annual event. The Ephs stroked a 686 over two days and were followed by Amherst in second (691), and host Vassar in third (700).

As a team, Wellesley shot identical combined scores of 384 on both days of the tournament. After Eaton, Young Hsu took 40th overall with a 198 (102-96), shaving six strokes off of her day one total. Lindsey Shephardson finished 43rd with a 201, while Michelle Cho tied for 45th place with a 206.

Rounding out the team scoring, NYU finished in fourth (711), followed by Middlebury in fifth (717), Ithaca in sixth (751), SUNY Cortland in seventh (756), Mount Holyoke tied for eighth with the Blue, St. Lawrence took 10th (776), William Smith was in 11th (829), and Nazareth in 12th (831).
