WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wellesley College golf team is in ninth place out of 14 teams after a rainy day one at the Williams College Fall Invitational. The two-day tournament is being hosted at the Taconic Valley Golf Course, a par-71, 5,827-yard surface.
Wellesley fought through tough conditions to post a team total of 363. At the top of the standings, Williams (325) has a 15-stroke lead over Ithaca (340) with SUNY Cortland (341) close behind.
Individually, Wellesley's Alexandria Lee and Lei Wei are tied for 21st with match day-one scored of 89. Alexandra Fuiks carded a 91 to tie for 47th, while Bristol Gunderson (94) and Young Hsu (99) round out the golfers for the Blue.
The tournament will continue tomorrow at 9:00am.
