WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Wellesley College golf team wrapped up its 2011-12 season with an eighth place finish at the 2012 Williams College Spring Invitational. The two-day event was held at the par-71, 5,827-yard Taconic Golf Club.
Wellesley was led by sophomore Alexandra Fuiks and first-year Alexandria Lee. Fuiks shot a two-day 185 to finish in 28th place, while Lee shot a 193 to take 32nd overall. Also for Wellesley, sophomore Lindsey Shephardson recorded a 204 to wind up in 36th place.
Rounding out the Blue golfers, first-year Michelle Brann shot a 207 to take 38th and junior Young Hsu shot a 222 to finish in 39th place.
Middlebury's Flora Weeks took medalist honors at the event, carding a two-day total of 159 (78-81). Williams' Georgiana Salant shot a 161 (78-83) to take second place.
In team scoring, Williams topped the field with an overal total of 652, followed by Middlebury (662) and Amherst (679). Vassar took fourth (687) while Williams "B" was fifth (706), with NYU (727), Mount Holyoke (740) and Wellesley (789), rounding out the team scoring.
