WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Visiting Merrimack College topped the Wellesley College golf team, 355-332, in a dual match on Saturday morning at the par-72, 5,860-yard Nehoiden Golf Course on the campus of Wellesley College.
Merrimack, a second-year Division-II program, took five out of the top six placings on the day. Ali Reed led all golfers with medalist honors, shooting a score of 80. Reed was followed by Merrimack's Jessica Ngui who shot an 81 and Wellesley junior Alexandra Fuiks who carded an 84.
Lloyd Hoehle (85), Jaclyn Drew (86) and Louise McGillivray (88) rounded out the scores for Merrimack.
For Wellesley, sophomore Alexandria Lee and first-year Lei Wei eached tallied rounds of 90 to finish tied for seventh. First-year Bristol Gunderson (91) and sophomore Michelle Brann (99) wrapped up the scoring for the Blue.
The Wellesley golf team is back in action next weekend at the NYU Invitational. The event will kick off at the Pelham Bay Golf Course on Saturday, and will be played at Split Rock Golf Course on Sunday.
