MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Wellesley College golf team opened their spring break trip to Myrtle Beach with a victory. The Blue came out on top of a three-team shootout, with Wellesley finishing ahead of both McDaniel College and Hollins University.
The event was held at the par-72, 5,820-yard Fazio Course at the Barefoot Golf Resort.
Wellesley posted a team score of 361 to best Hollins (366) and McDaniel (385). The Blue were led by first-year Bristol Gunderson who ranked second overall, finishing with a score of 86.
Wellesley senior Michelle Cho and sophomore Alexandria Lee ranked second on the Blue, as their cards of 90 placed them fourth overall. Junior Alexandra Fuiks finished seventh overall with a 95, while first-year Lei Wei ranked 11th, with a score of 100.
Wellesley is back in action tomorrow at the Dye Course at Barefoot Resort. The Blue will battle McDaniel, Vassar and William Smith beginning at 1:00pm.
