MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Wellesley College golf team capped their spring break trip with a second place finish in a four-team shootout on Wednesday. The Blue ranked second with a 360 behind Vassar (347), topping McDaniel College (361) and William Smith College (417).
Today's event was held at the par-72, 5,850-yard Dye Course at the Barefoot Golf Resort.
Wellesley junior Alexandra Fuiks and first-year Bristol Gunderson paced the Blue with fourth place finishes. Each carded a round of 87 to lead Wellesley.
Senior Michelle Cho finished her day ranked ninth overall, recording a round of 92. Sophomore Alexandria Lee placed 10th in the field with a 94, while first-year Lei Wei finished 15th with a 103.
Wellesley is back in action on April 13th and 14th competing at the Vassar Invitational. The event will serve as the 2013 Liberty League Women's Golf Championship. The Blue will be competing in the event for the first time since joining the Liberty League as associate members for women's golf.
