AMHERST, Mass. -- Wellesley College sits in eighth place among 12 teams after day one at the 2013 Jack Leaman Women's Golf Championship, hosted by Amherst College at the Hickory Ridge Country Club. Ithaca leads the event with a 320 after one day of play, followed by NYU (323) and Williams (325).
The Blue fired a 357 on Saturday, led by senior Michelle Cho, who shot an 84 to put her in a tie for 19th place. First-year Lei Wei shot a career-low 87 on day one, tying her for 32nd with sophomore teammate Alexandria Lee. Carding a 99 was junior Lindsey Shepardson, while classmate Michelle Brann shot a 101.
Each carding a five-over par 79, the Ithaca's Sharon Li and Kelsey Baker sit two strokes behind individual leader Elaine Tse of NYU.
The competition will conclude Sunday at The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
