AMHERST, Mass. – The Wellesley College golf team recorded a ninth place finish at the two-day Jack Leaman Women's Golf Championship, hosted by Amherst College. The event was played at the Hickory Ridge Country Club.
The Blue fired a 357 on Saturday, led by sophomore Alexandria Lee who shaved three strokes off her day one total to finish in 25th overall (87-84 – 171). Senior Michelle Cho finished second for the Blue, combining scores of 84 and 92 for a 176 that ranked her 34th overall.
Also for Wellesley, first-year Lei Wei finished 41st overall with a 181 (87-94), followed by juniors Michelle Brann (101-104 – 205) and Lindsey Shepardson (99-109 – 208).
Ithaca won the event with a 642, followed by Williams (644) and Middlebury (656). Sharon Li of Ithaca took home medalist honors, firing a 73 on day two for a two-day total of 152 (+6).
The Wellesley golf team will close out the 2012-13 season next weekend, traveling to the Williams Spring Invitational.
