POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Williams College and Amherst College share the lead at the Vassar College Invitational with a day-one score of 322. The two-day tournament is being held at Casperkill Golf Club, a par-72 course located in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Williams and Amherst were followed by SUNY Cortland and Middlebury with scores of 329 and 335, respectively.  Wellesley finished day one in 10th place in the 12-team field. The Blue were led by first year Amy (Zilin) Jin (Shenzhen, China) and junior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.), tallying scores of 89 and 93, respectively.  Williams sophomore Phoebe Mattana (Demarest, N.J.) sits atop the leader board with a score of 75.

The tournament continues tomorrow morning with the second and final round beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00am.
