Wellesley Golf Ties Program Best Round with 302 at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – First year Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) carded a 74 (+2) to help guide Wellesley College golf to a score of 302, which ties a program record for a low round, on day one of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Saturday at the Par-72 Captains Golf Club in Brewster, Mass.

The 302 gave the Blue a nine stroke lead over second place Hartford (311). Babson (327), Bates (331), and Suffolk (343) rounded out the top five after round one. Hartford junior Madeline Adam (Chandler, Ariz.) led all individuals with a 70 (-2).

Du sits in second place while classmates Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.), Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.), and Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) all shot a 76 (+4) to tie for fourth. First year Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) is in 10th place after shooting a 78 (+6) on Saturday.

First year Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) shot a 79 (+7) playing as an individual.

Round two of the NEIGA Championship begins tomorrow at 10:30 AM.
