Wellesley Golf Earns Second at Vassar College Invitational

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Wellesley College golf took second in the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday at Par-72, 5810 yard Casperkill Golf Club.

The Blue (305) trailed only winning New York University (290) in the team competition. Wellesley held a healthy 15 stroke lead over third place Hamilton (320).

Senior Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) shot two-over with a 74, including an eagle on 14, to tie for fifth place. Sophomore Elizabeth Kim (Riverside, Calif.) played as an individual and also shot a 74.

NYU first year Irene Park (Rowland Heights, Calif.) was the individual leader, shooting two under with a 70. 

Senior Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.), junior Emma Lim (Skillman, N.J.), and sophomore Norah Catlin (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) all shot a 77 to tie for eighth for Wellesley while junior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) was only one stroke behind with a 78, good for a tie for twelfth place.

The Blue return to Casperkill Golf Club tomorrow to take part in the one-day Vassar College Classic, beginning at 9:00 AM.
