Kayla DaSilva Returns to Wellesley Field Hockey as Assistant Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Callie Lekas '10, Head Field Hockey Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice, has announced the hiring of Kayla DaSilva as an assistant coach for the Wellesley College field hockey team.

DaSilva served as the Associate Head Coach of the Blue from 2021-23 under Lekas. The team made three postseason appearances during that time, including a semifinals run in 2021. Recently, DaSilva became the Program Director and Head Coach of the Patriot Field Hockey Club in Norwood, Mass. and was an assistant coach for U19 National Club Championship team 2025.

DaSilva previously served as the Assistant Coach at NEWMAC rival Wheaton College from 2014-21. From 2014-23, DaSilva was the Club Coordinator and Head Coach for Lead The Way Field Hockey in Providence, R.I., creating curriculums for all training sessions, travel teams and clinics.

A standout member of the field hockey team at the University of Massachusetts- Lowell from 2008-2011, DaSilva helped the Riverhawks capture the Northeast-10 (NE-10) Conference Championship en route to winning the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championship with a program-best 24-0 record. The next season, she was named National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II North Region Player of the Year and NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year as the Riverhawks repeated as NE-10 Champions. A two-time NE-10 All-Conference team honoree, DaSilva was named to the All-American first team as a senior in 2011.
