WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College and MIT women's soccer teams battled for 110 minutes, but neither squad could manage a score, as the game ended in a double-overtime draw on Tuesday afternoon in Wellesley.

The result sets Wellesley's overall record to 7-6-2, with a 4-1-2 mark in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).  League-leading MIT now sits at 12-2-1 overall, 5-1-1 in NEWMAC play.

Although MIT posted a 30-17 advantage in shots, Wellesley kept pace with the Engineers using strong defense from keeper Sarah Gray, who picked up seven saves.  Gray made perhaps the biggest stop of the day in the 82nd minute, saving a a rocket from the foot of MIT's Lauren Hernley.  Gray made a leaping save, knocking the ball in the air and then prevented the rebound from ending up in the net, preserving the 0-0 tie.

Wellesley's best chance to score came as time expired in the first overtime period.  Chelsea-Ann Patry's shot found the back of the net, past a diving Meghan Wright, but the goal was waived off, as it crossed the line just moments after the horn had sounded.

Each team collected five corner kicks in regulation, but MIT held a 2-0 edge in corners in the overtime periods.

Gray's seven stops are third most for the junior this season.  Across the field, MIT's Wright picked up five total saves.

Wellesley is back in action on Saturday playing under the lights at WPI with a 5:00pm start.  MIT continues its three game road trip on Saturday, traveling to Coast Guard on Saturday for a 1:00pm game.
