WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College sophomore Ava Shane (Plano, Texas) has been named to the weekly New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll Second Team for the week ending on November 30.

In the Blue's 75-41 win over Wentworth last Tuesday, Shane put up 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting. The sophomore forward added a career-best six assists in addition to eight rebounds and a trio of steals.

Next up, the Blue will compete against Williams College at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 5 as part of the Shooting Touch Tournament.

The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) provides support for coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWBA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region who have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization. At the conclusion of each season, the NEWBA sponsors the Senior All-Star Classic. This has become a great tradition and a memorable way for many seniors to finish their collegiate careers.
